Condition: Minor wear on chin and lower lip, otherwise of excellent quality.
Description: Finely modeled terracotta head of a youth with archaic features. The eyes almond-shaped and slightly bulging, the nose long, the mouth gently formed into a smile. The wavy hair parted in the middle and framing the head with a wreath. The hair on the calotte coiffed straight from the vertex to the front. The young man wearing a filet, keeping the curls in form. Accompanied by a TL-test from the Research Laboratory for Archaeology and the History of Art, Oxford, dated 5 December 1990, confirming the age of the head, as well as personal notes from the previous owner James Chesterman. Mounted.
