Description: Wonderful, in amber-color glowing glass jar with a collared rim. The bulbous vessel stands on a slightly concave base and has ten evenly spaced vertical indentations running around the body. The neck is short and constricted, above which is the compressed collar, which is open towards the interior of the vessel. The rim is rounded and thickened by heat. Glass jars of this size and colour were produced in Palestine. See for example: „Römisches, byzantinisches und frühmittelalterliches Glas“ – Sammlung Ernesto Wolf“, Hatje Cantz 2001, no. 117. With its dimpled body, however, this vessel belongs to a rare form.
