Description: A fine collection of 17 small Egyptian amulets and inlays that were placed on mummies as protective symbols. Among them is a very finely crafted mosaic glass eye from the Ptolemaic period, several Udjat eyes, two made of carnelian, the others of faience. Also included are a heart amulet of lapis lazuli, a wadj amulet in the form of a papyrus sceptre made of brown stone, as well as two Maat squares of dark hematite, whose right angle was believed to ensure that the life of the deceased had been lived upright and in accordance with the principles of Maat.
