Provenance: Collection Duroc-Danner, Geneva, acquired on 24 September 1968. Since then in a family estate. Accompanied by an inventory list compiled by Jean Vinchon, Paris, on 24 September 1968 mentioning the seal.
Condition: Intact
Description: On the upper side of the sculptural black marble seal depicting a stylized cow with a long mouth. The eyes are circularly pierced, possibly once with inlays of a different material. The back of the animal’s head is semi-circular, the short horns slightly protruding. Vertical perforations so that the seal could be worn with a cord. At the bottom a stamp indentation.
