Condition: Unrestored, with interesting traces of color.

Description: An expressive limestone portrait depicting a balding man of mature age with particularly distinctive features. His eyes are wide open beneath semi-circular brows and framed by heavy eyelids, while the small mouth has slightly asymmetrical lips. The remaining hair is combed back at the sides. Part of the left ear is still preserved. The rounded cheeks and distinct beginnings of a double chin suggest a wealthy Roman citizen from the eastern provinces of the Empire. Some of the light red to pink coloration of the skin is still visible. Mounted.
