Description: A large mould-blown bottle made of thick, blue, slightly translucent glass. The body is rectangular with a square base and a horizontal shoulder. The neck is cylindrical, and the rim is widely flaring, folded over, and fire-thickened. The separately formed broad strap handle is attached just below the rim and descends with a sharp bend to the shoulder. The base is decorated with five circular reliefs. Rectangular glass bottles of this type were used for transporting liquids. Occasionally, however, such vessels were also employed as urns, which seems unusual given the narrow neck, but is by no means rare.
