Provenance: From the collection of the English author William Somerset Maugham. Auctioned at Sotheby’s on 20 November 1967 “The Contents of the Villa Mauresque”, lot 150. With a copy of the original invoice of 1967 and the original Sotheby’s label.
Condition: The tip of the stump arms broken, otherwise intact. On the back a hand written inventory number.
Description: Cypriot worshiper, extremely stylized, with cylindrical body, stump arms and delicately worked face with earrings. Towards the bottom an overhanging base. Some color remains are preserved.
