Description: High-quality black-figure Little-Master band cup from an Attic workshop. The wine cup has two opposite handles with an upwards curved rim. The lip of the cup is concave, which makes drinking easier. The masterly painted image area is between broad black bands. Depicted on both sides in the centre is a grazing stag, which is flanked by two swans with raised wings. In between a column of dots. On the sides of the handles palmettes are painted, which sprout from volutes and fade to a long loop at the bottom. Fine details of painting are applied in red. The band cup stands on a high foot ring, whose upper rim elegantly curves upwards. On the inside in the tondo a dotted circle.
