Description: Bronze fragment of Tabella I of a Roman military diploma with very diligently drawn inscription on the outside. This document, issued by Emperor Antoninus Pius, is a fleet diploma for a soldier of the Praetorian fleet from Misenum (“classis praetoria Misenensis”). He served under the prefect Tuticanus Capito. The diploma dates to 7th February in the Consular year of App. Annius Atilius Bradua and of T. Vibius Varus, who held their offices in the year 160.
