Description: Modern gold ring with a finely worked out Roman chalcedony intaglio. The outwards curved intaglio depicts the enthroned Jupiter to the right. The god has his left arm stretched out, on his hand sits the winged victory goddess Victoria. He holds a staff with his right backwards raised hand. Jupiter is without clothes except for the himation thrown over his lap. In front of his feet sits an eagle, this is why we here may speak of Jupiter Aëtophoros, Jupiter holding the eagle, who is especially known from the tetradrachmes of Alexander the Great. The modern gold ring with two hallmarks that are no longer legible today. Ready to wear.
