Description: Detailed worked out bronze statuette of an undressed man who has his hands placed on the belly in a worshiping gesture. The man has a bird-like face with large bulging eyes, a long pointy nose and an angular chin beard. On top the face is framed by bangs, which end on the sides in circular punches, which can be interpreted as ears. The flat upper body is bent backwards, nipples and arms are accentuated. Striking are the strong upper thighs in relation to the narrow waist, in between the prominent phallus. The equally strong calves are pushed backwards, as if the adorant intends to fall on his knees any moment. The otherwise naked man wears clearly elaborate footwear on his feet, reaching up to his ankles. Votive figures such as the present one were found in northern Caucasus, e.g. in Karata in Dagestan. They possibly were made as presents to the gods close to sacrificial sites, sold and offered to the gods. Mounted.
