Condition: The intaglio with minor chips on the upper left of the rim, otherwise wonderfully preserved.
Description: A Roman carnelian intaglio with a portrait of Cronus to the left, worked out in high quality and set in a modern gold ring of the mid-20th century. The father of Zeus with fine features, short, thick curls, which cascade into his forehead and a massive beard, which winds up along the prominent chin. Cronus has a cape pulled over his back of the head, which cascades in longitudinal folds.
