Provenance: Private collection Surgeon-General Dr. Josef Mayer-Riefenthaler, Vienna, Austria. Acquired in Cyprus in the 1960s, during his deployment as UN soldier.
Condition: Excellent condition, completely intact.
Description: Attic black-glazed fish-plate with a base sloping slightly towards the centre and overhanging rim, to keep the served seafood on the plate. The edges of the central depression (for oils) and the rim with a reserved gilt band. On the back a broad ring base with a central omphalos. Found in Cyprus.
