Description: Cast spear butt with winged spouts. Above each of the finely fluted wings is a mounting hole where the ancient pin is still in place. Spear butts formed the finale of a lance touching the ground. The present rare model has a pointy finale which could also be used as a thrusting blade. Published in: H. Born und S. Hansen, Helme und Waffen Alteuropas. Sammlung Axel Guttmann volume IX. Mainz 2001, p. 140 f. and 144, fig. 113 as well as p. 274.
