Description: Charming, Hellenistic terracotta statuette depicting a boy riding a horse. The boy is aligned to the right and looking at the viewer. He just has a coat thrown over his shoulders. The dog with a thick, finely wavy fur, rolled tail and a raised, straight looking head. It is probably a Melitan. The figure group stands on a rectangular base. With beautiful color remains. Statuettes such as the present one were found in Cyrenaica in Libya. See for the type the terracotta in the British Museum from the Townley collection.
