Condition: Professionally reassembled from a few fragments, without missing parts.
Description: Extraordinarily large and impressive black-glazed lekythos. Due to ancient misfiring the surface shows especially near the handle bright fiery areas. The corpus with vertical notches, on the shoulder fine stamped decoration, depicting in the first row palmettes and in the second row alternating palmettes and leaf décor. The funnel-shaped spout massive with a horizontal rim. The thick handle with a high middle ridge is raised from the spout edge and finishes on the shoulder.
