Provenance: Collection Thomas Jorda, Baden, Austria. Acquired by his uncle, who was the culture attaché in Turkey in the 1950s and 1960s.
Condition: Intact with encrustations.
Description: High glass with a flat, bell-shaped corpus, clearly constricting at the end, before the long, cylindrical neck starts. The end forms a slightly downwards hanging rim. In such vessels mostly medical or cosmetic ointments or similar substances were stored. In ancient times balsamarii were also used as grave offerings.
