Description: Marble head of a patrician with very personalised features and a strong expression. The elderly man with deep forehead and cheek folds. The mouth with a thick lower lip and distinctive nasolabial folds. The determined, straight gaze indicates that the present man is of high rank. The neck is also strong with a thick horizontal fold. His hair is messy and thick. The bulging brows are in the tradition of Republican portraits, but the indicated pupils suggest a date at the end of the Flavian period or soon after. Mounted.
